Plain Muffins I

      Yield: 6 servings
 
      2 c  Flour                               3 ts Baking powder
      4 tb Sugar                             1/2 ts Salt
      3 tb Melted shortening                   1    Egg, well beaten
      1 c  Milk                           
 
  Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt. Combine egg,
  shortening, milk, and sugar.  Add dry ingredients. Beat only until smooth.
  Fill well-oiled muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake in hot oven (425Ü F) 15-20
